The Americans are adding some funk ahead of a quarterfinal bout with Canada.
Toronto Blue Jays reliever Tyler Rogers is joining Team USA for the knockout stage at the World Baseball Classic, the club announced on Thursday.
Rogers, who is entering his first season with the Jays, could face Team Canada in his first appearance with the stars and stripes.
The 35-year-old submariner has allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings in spring training while striking out seven.
In 81 games with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets last season, Rogers posted a 1.98 ERA and 0.94 WHIP.
He replaces left-hander Ryan Yarbrough, who returned to spring training with the New York Yankees, on the roster.
The U.S.-Canada quarterfinal is set for Friday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
