WWE community mourns loss of legend ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund

The wrestling community was rocked on Wednesday with the announcement of WWE legend ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund’s death at the age of 76.

Known for his iconic voice and strong personality, Okerlund worked as a wrestling journalist, interviewer and announcer for 49 years, earning a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2006. He conducted some of the most remarkable interviews in the business, which included wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Jesse “The Body” Ventura, who is credited with giving ‘Mean’ Gene his nickname.
