Kenny Wilson is on the move again.
The Oakland Athletics claimed the 24-year-old outfielder on waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday and immediately optioned him to triple-A Sacramento.
It’s been an eventful season for Wilson who began 2014 in double-A New Hampshire with the Blue Jays organization before getting claimed by the Minnesota Twins at the end of April. He spent a few weeks with Minnesota’s double-A affiliate, New Britain, before he was returned to the Blue Jays via waivers for a second stint with the organization.
Once he returned to the Blue Jays, Wilson played for both New Hampshire and triple-A Buffalo before being designated for assignment on Saturday. In 76 minor league games this year, Wilson batted .234/.312/.333/.646 with two home runs, 22 RBI, and 22 stolen bases.
He was originally selected in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2008 MLB draft by Toronto.
