The Toronto Blue Jays will have to wait a little longer to find out the fate of injured pitcher Drew Hutchison.
Hutchison was sent to Dunedin, Fla., on Tuesday after a second opinion by Dr. Tim Kremchek confirmed the team’s initial diagnosis of a sprained ligament in his right elbow.
Dr in Cinci comfirms sprain to Hutchison’s elbow. In Dunedin for more tests. Will take couple of days to determine next step. #bluejays — Barry Davis (@SNBarryDavis) June 19, 2012

Hutchison is currently undergoing additional testing and it’s still undetermined whether the rookie right-hander will require Tommy John surgery.

Hutchison could become the second Blue Jays starter to require the season-ending surgery this week after right-hander Kyle Drabek underwent the procedure on Tuesday, although rehab is still an option.
The 21-year-old left Friday’s 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies after just nine pitches and was subsequently placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday. Hutchison is 5-3 with a 4.60 ERA and 1.347 WHIP in 58.2 innings pitched this season.
