Blue Jays’ Josh Donaldson wins 2015 Silver Slugger Award

The Angels get shortstop Andrelton Simmons in a trade with the Braves, plus the top hitters in MLB are rewarded with Silver Slugger Awards.

Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays has won the 2015 Silver Slugger Award as the American League’s top offensive third baseman.

Donaldson batted .297 with 41 home runs, 123 RBIs and a .939 OPS in 158 games for the Blue Jays in 2015.

Jose Bautista was in the running for AL outfielders, but lost out to Mike Trout, Nelson Cruz, and J.D. Martinez.

Russell Martin and Edwin Encarnacion also missed out on the catcher and designated hitter awards, respectively.
