Game 5: Blue Jays vs. Red Sox

First pitch: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: Sportsnet East, Ontario, West & Pacific, 6:30 p.m. ET. Sportsnet 590 The Fan.

Starters: Kyle Drabek (2011: 6.06 ERA, 1.353 WHIP, 78.2 IP) vs. Daniel Bard (2011: 3.33 ERA, 0.959 WHIP, 73.0 IP).

The Toronto Blue Jays will turn to Kyle Drabek Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox as they look to erase the sting of Monday night’s ugly home opener loss.

Toronto led Boston 2-1 enetring the ninth inning Monday before closer Sergio Santos — who had trouble throwing his fastball for strikes — coughed up the lead in a 4-2 loss. You can read Shi Davidi’s take on it here, and Michael Grange’s column on why the fans will forgive, but not forget the loss, here.

Shi will be covering tonight’s contest and you can follow him on Twitter (@shidavidi), or check back here throughout the morning/afternoon for news, including the starting lineups when they’re announced, leading up to the BlackBerry Game Zone live chat at 7 p.m ET.

Coincidentally, Drabek’s final MLB start of 2011 prior to being dispatched to triple-A Las Vegas was against the Red Sox at home, on June 12. The results were not pretty.

In that day’s 14-1 loss, Drabek went four innings surrendering eight runs on seven hits and four walks.

As for Bard, the Red Sox setup-man last season will be making his first big-league start after the team moved him to the rotation this spring.
