TORONTO — Marcus Stroman plans to pitch in the World Baseball Classic next spring although he’s not saying which country he intends to represent.

The Toronto Blue Jays right-hander made the revelation while speaking with reporters Friday at the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic in the Dominican Republic.

“I think I am going to play in the WBC,” he told reporters. “That’s all I can say at this point.”

Stroman is eligible to pitch for both the United States and Puerto Rico.

When asked which national team he’d be on, he replied: “I don’t know yet. I’m not sure. I can’t comment further. Something will be coming out shortly. I can’t speak to it yet.”

Stroman went 9-10 with a 4.37 ERA in a career best 204 innings over 32 starts in 2016.
