PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded veteran infielder Mark Teahen to the Cincinnati Reds for a player to be named later.

The 31-year-old Teahen signed with the Diamondbacks during the off-season and spent the season at Triple-A Reno, where he hit .211.

Teahen hasn’t played in the majors since 2011 with Toronto and spent last season with Washington’s Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y., where he hit .260 with three homers.

Teahen has played all three outfield positions and every infield position except shortstop in seven big-league seasons. He’s a career .264 hitter with 67 homers and 332 RBIs.
