Gotta See It: Rougned Odor flips his bat at WBC … on a single

Venezuela's Rougned Odor celebrates a bit too early with an emphatic bat flip and home run trot which turns out to be an off-the-wall single.

The Oxford dictionary defines irony as “a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result.”

And your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That is, in fact, Rougned Odor — he of the punch-Jose-Bautista-in-the-face-for-bat-flipping-during-a-playoff-game variety — flipping his own bat during a World Baseball Classic game on a shot that just ended up being a single.

Odor and his Texas Rangers teammates didn’t hide their feelings on Bautista and the Toronto Blue Jays following the slugger’s bat flip in Game 5 of the ALDS in 2015.
