Roy Halladay will be back on the mound for the Blue Jays on Friday.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner announced on Twitter Thursday that he will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Jays home opener against the New York Yankees.
Halladay spent 12 years in Toronto and is ranked second in franchise history in wins and strike outs, and third in innings pitched. The 36-year-old last appeared in Toronto in 2011 as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Canadian rock legend Geddy Lee of Rush threw out the first pitch at the home opener last season.
