CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox say they have claimed catcher Rob Brantly off waivers from the Miami Marlins.

Brantly appeared in 98 games with the Marlins during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, batting .235 with four home runs and 26 RBIs. He hit .255 with four homers and 37 RBIs in 101 games last season for Triple-A New Orleans.

The move announced Monday puts the White Sox’s 40-man roster at 40.
