Did the officials cost the Raptors vs. Warriors?

You be the judge on this one, as Kyle Lowry is called for an offensive foul at a very crucial time late in the game against the best team in the world.

The Toronto Raptors lost a heartbreaker to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night—a defeat that to many came in controversial fashion.

With 15 seconds to play and the Raptors down by one Kyle Lowry was whistled for an offensive foul while setting a screen on Warriors forward Andre Iguodala. Iguodala appeared to hook his arm through Lowry’s like a square-dancing partner in order to draw the foul.

Earlier in the fourth, with momentum shifting Toronto’s way, Cory Joseph appeared to pull in an offensive rebound and make a put-back to tie the game at 105, but was called for a loose-ball foul despite the replay appearing to show Joseph merely tapping the ball out of Klay Thompson’s hand.

So, did the Raptors get hosed by the officials?

There’s been no word about an(other) official apology from the NBA, suggesting the calls on the floor were acceptable to the league office. Not to mention the fact that Toronto did have its opportunities before the controversial calls, and put itself in a precarious situation by getting down by 16 at the half.

Still, given the Raptors’ history with tough calls down the stretch, there’s ample room open for debate.
