WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Australian-born punter Tim Hutchison on Thursday.

The CFL club also signed offensive lineman James Carmon and receiver Quintin McCree.

The six-foot-five, 206-pound Hutchison will compete for a roster spot as a non-import and is a former Australian Rules Football player.

Hutchison will attempt to follow in the footsteps of Josh Bartel, another former AFL player who is currently a punter with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Hutchison will be one of four punters at the Bombers camp behind incumbent Mike Renaud as well as fellow rookies Brett Cameron — the son of former Winnipeg punter Bob Cameron — and Billy Pavlopoulos, the club’s 2013 seventh-round draft pick.
