BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills have placed rookie cornerback Ron Brooks on injured reserve, and re-signed receiver Ruvell Martin four days after he was among the final cuts.
Brooks, who had surgery to repair a broken foot last week, will be eligible to return this season. That’s because the Bills placed him on the NFL’s newly created IR/designated for return list.
That means, Brooks is eligible to return to practice in six weeks, and could be activated after eight weeks.
Martin is a six-year NFL veteran, who appeared in 14 games with Buffalo last season.
His addition bolsters Buffalo’s depth at receiver in preparing to open their season at the Jets on Sunday. Buffalo was down to four healthy receivers because Brad Smith has a groin injury.
