Attempting to revive a flagging NFL career and being the star of Page Six are usually mutually exclusive endeavours.
Nothing about Johnny Manziel’s young “career” has been usual, however, and after a week of strange twists in the former Heisman winner’s tale, Friday brought a new allegation.
Page Six is reporting accusations that Manziel threw two raging parties at a $4.5-million rented house in L.A., causing $32,000 in damages. Page Six’s description of the carnage doesn’t sound hopeful for fans of the struggling QB.
It’s claimed Manziel and his group left the house strewn with booze and drugs, broke an expensive glass table and a bathroom door, and left wine stains and cigarette burns on carpets. Pictures obtained by Page Six show lines of suspicious white powder on a table, and an open bag of what is claimed to be magic mushrooms.
Manziel is being charged for the damages by real estate broker Nicholas Goodwin, who claims through a lawyer that he will sue if Manziel doesn’t pay for the damages. Goodwin’s lawyer also claims Manziel was found crashed on the couch at 2 p.m. amongst the mess.
Last week, Manziel claimed to be living with Super Bowl MVP Von Miller and working on his game. Miller refuted that claim, but said he wishes Manziel the best.
Manziel is currently a free agent, without both a team and an agent, after Drew Rosenhaus dropped him, saying that he hoped the move would serve as a wake-up call and that Manziel would get the help he needs.
