Russell Wilson's playing career could be coming to an end.
The long-time quarterback is in deep discussions to go into television, which would take him out of action competition, sources told The Athletic on Friday.
“The NFL Today,” CBS’ Sunday pre-game show, is considered the favourite to add Wilson, per The Athletic.
Wilson has played 14 years in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and, most recently, the New York Giants.
The 37-year-old is a 10-time Pro Bowler and one-time Super Bowl Champion with the Seahawks. He fell into a backup role this past season on the Giants, appearing in a career-low six games and making just three starts.
Despite the television possibility, Wilson also recently met with the New York Jets about being Geno Smith's backup, The Athletic adds.
