OHL: Domi, Knights rally to beat Whalers

Max Domi scored twice in the third period as the London Knights rallied to beat the Plymouth Whalers 6-4 in the Ontario Hockey League's Western Conference final Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Max Domi scored twice in the third period as the London Knights rallied to beat the Plymouth Whalers 6-4 in the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference final Tuesday.

London trailed 4-3 after Mitchell Heard scored for Plymouth at 12:01 in the third, but three minutes later Domi tied the game on the power play.

Seth Griffith gave the Knights the lead less than a minute later and Domi scored again in the final minute of regulation to give London a 2-1 series lead.

London raced out to a 3-0 lead after Ryan Rupert scored and Bo Horvat had a pair of short-handed goals only 1:09 apart.

But Plymouth roared back in the third with four unanswered goals. Tom Wilson scored twice followed by goals from Rickard Rakell and Heard.

Knights goaltender Anthony Stolarz made 38 saves for the win, while Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 22 shots for the Whalers.

Game 4 is Wednesday night in Plymouth.
