SHAWINIGAN, Que. — James Phelan had the shootout winner for the Shawinigan Cataractes as they edged the Gatineau Olympiques 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play on Saturday.
Anthony Beauvillier struck twice in regulation and once in the shootout to pace the offence for the Cataractes (8-7-2) while Alexis D’Aoust added another to round out the attack.
William Blackburn, Alexandre Carrier and Alexandre Alain all had a goal for the Olympiques (7-7-4).
Marvin Cupper was the winning goaltender, making 23 saves and stopping 4 of 5 in the shootout.
Anthony Brodeur suffered the loss, turning aside 32 shots.
Shawinigan scored twice on seven power-play attempts while Gatineau was 1 for 5.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Tyler Hylland scored 1:25 into the second period and it proved to be the winner as the Armada beat Halifax.
Philippe Sanche had a goal and and assist for Blainville-Boisbriand (8-6-2).
Brandon Vuic found the back of the net for the Mooseheads (5-8-2).

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Laurent Dauphin had a goal and two assists to power the Sagueneens past Victoriaville.
Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau, Jeremy Bouchard, Charles Guevremont and Nikita Liamkin also scored for Chicoutimi (6-9-1).
Filip Pyrochta chipped in with his first of the season on the power play for the Tigres (7-5-2).

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Mitchell Dempsey scored once and added two assists in the Sea Dogs’ win over Baie-Comeau.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Joey Ratelle and Dylan Montcalm had two goals apiece for the Voltigeurs in their win over Moncton.
Alexandre Grand-Maison also chipped for Drummondville (7-6-2).
