The Ottawa Senators will be without their captain when they travel to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday.
Sportsnet’s Ian Mendes reports that Daniel Alfredsson is suffering from a hip flexor injury, which he says is not serious at this point. He is hopeful to play on Thursday night when the club hosts the Florida Panthers.
Alfredsson has got off to a solid start after a back injury derailed his season in 2010-11, scoring three goals and five points in Ottawa’s first eight games.
