Bruins defencemen Chara, Liles out Tuesday vs. Flyers

The Bruins rode a three-goal second period to a 4-1 win over the Lightning.

The Boston Bruins will be without the services of their two most veteran defencemen when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, as both Zdeno Chara and John-Michael Liles did not make the trip with the rest of the team.

Chara, 39, has missed the Bruins’ last three games with an upper-body injury, while Liles, 36, suffered an upper-body injury during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after a scary fall into the end boards.

The Bruins (12-10-0) will be in tough against the Flyers (10-10-3) with two of their top 4 defenders sidelined.
