The Montreal Canadiens recalled defenceman Jarred Tinordi, the team announced in a press release Thursday morning.

The 21-year-old Tinordi has played 55 games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs this season, recording two goals and nine assists with 51 penalty minutes.

Tinordi is considered to be one of the top prospects in the Canadiens’ system.

He is the son of former NHLer Marc Tinordi, who played for the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, and Washington Capitals.

Tinordi was selected by the Canadiens in the first round (No. 22 overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
