The Canucks are interested in current New York Rangers assistant coach Scott Arniel.

Arniel has had two stints within the Canucks organization.

Prior to coaching the Chicago Wolves during the 2012 season, Arniel coached the Manitoba Moose for four seasons from 2006-2010. He led the Moose to a number of franchise records during the 2008-09 season, including the most wins in the regular season (50).

Both the Wolves and the Moose were once the AHL affiliates of the Canucks.

Arniel then went on to coach the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2010-2012, compiling a record of 45-60-18.

The Rangers recently finished a remarkable run to the Stanley Cup Final, where they eventually fell to the Los Angeles Kings in five games.
