Coach’s Corner sits with top NHL Draft prospects

Some of the best potential 2015 NHL Draft picks join Ron and Don, and Jack Eichel has a present for Grapes.

Some are calling the 2015 NHL Draft class the best in years and Don Cherry agrees.

With the draft just 18 days away, Cherry continued the tradition of inviting a handful of the top prospects onto Coach’s Corner and introducing these future stars to a Hockey Night in Canada audience.

Cherry was joined by franchise centres Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, plus consensus top-10 picks Dylan Strome, Noah Hanifin, Mitch Marner and Lawson Crouse.

“I’ve been doing this a long time and we’ve had a lot of guys on. These guys are the best we’ve ever had on,” Cherry said of this year’s guests.

Cherry is notoriously biased towards Canadian players, so there was a nice moment of levity when American Eichel presented Cherry with a gift — a USA Hockey shirt.
