Golden Knights’ Subban out four weeks, placed on injured reserve

Vegas Golden Knights goalies are dropping like flies, Malcolm Subban goes down after stretching to make a save in the third period against his teams game against the St. Louis Blues.

Vegas Golden Knights netminder Malcolm Subban is expected to be out of the lineup for the next four weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced on Sunday.

Subban was forced out of his club’s game against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday after he stretched out to stop an attempt from Blues forward Jaden Schwartz.

Through three games this season, Subban posted two wins, a save percentage of .936 and a goals against average of 2.06.

The Golden Knights now enter their next game, Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, without their top two goaltenders. Starter Marc-Andre Fleury is currently sidelined with a concussion, suffered after taking a knee to the head during a game against the Detroit Red Wings earlier this month.

With both Fleury and Subban out, 23-year-old Oscar Dansk remains the team’s current top option in net. Dansk took over the goaltending reins on Saturday after Subban was forced to the locker room. Playing in what was his first NHL appearance, the Stockholm native turned aside 10 of 11 shots in 14 minutes of action, helping Vegas earn an overtime win over St. Louis.

The Golden Knights have recalled goaltender Maxime Lagace from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to backup Dansk.
