Less than a week after being recalled from the Toronto Marlies, Maple Leafs forwards Nazem Kadri and Ryan Hamilton are on their way back to the American Hockey League.
The Maple Leafs announced Sunday that Kadri and Hamilton will join the Marlies prior to their 3:00 p.m. game against the Texas Stars. The move likely means injured forwards Clarke MacArthur and Matt Frattin will be ready to return to the lineup when the Leafs take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday.
In his recent two-game stint with the big club, Kadri scored a goal and added a shootout winner while Hamilton, who made his NHL debut Friday against New Jersey, picked up his first career point.
Hamilton, the Marlies’ captain, leads the team in goals (23) and is second in points (46). In 42 AHL games this season, Kadri has 13 goals and 32 points to go along with five goals and seven points in 21 games with the Leafs.
