After an impressive cup of coffee at the NHL level, Dylan Garand has earned himself a new contract.
The New York Rangers signed the goaltender to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Sunday.
According to Mollie Walker of the New York Post, the deal is a two-way contract in Year 1, worth $850,000 at the NHL level, then will convert to a one-way deal in Year 2, worth $900,000.
Garand, 24, made his NHL debut last season, appearing in three games in late March and mid-April. He posted a 1.62 goals against average and .948 save percentage.
At the AHL level with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Garand finished with a 16-15-2 record, 2.83 GAA and .896 save percentage in 36 games.
Selected by the Rangers 103rd overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, the Victoria native has made 148 career AHL appearances over five seasons, posting a 65-57-18 record along with a 2.90 GAA and .901 save percentage.
