The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenceman Rob Scuderi from the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League.
Scuderi was waived at the beginning of the season, but an injury to the Kings’ blue line has opened the door for the veteran to make a return to the NHL.
The 37-year-old is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, having won in 2009 with the Pittsburgh Penguins and in 2012 with Los Angeles.
He has eight goals and 110 points in 783 career NHL games, and is in the final season of a four-year contract that pays him $3.375 million annually.
The Kings put defenceman Brayden McNabb on injured reserve after the 25-year-old crashed hard into the boards in a game against the St. Louis Blues.
