Rheanna Trepanier, a 10-year-old from Edmonton, was recently told she has just months to live.

With her family by her side, Rheanna is looking to make the most of her final days and meeting Connor McDavid was right at the top of her to-do list.

On Monday, the same day that her chemotherapy treatment began, her wish came true as McDavid arrived at Stollery Children’s Hospital bearing a signed No. 97 jersey to wish Rehanna all the best.

Rheanna’s health first became a concern on Halloween at which time her mother took her to the hospital where doctors discovered she had four brain tumours.

Since then, she has underdone three brain surgeries, celebrated her 10th birthday, and received the news that she only has months to live.

Monday morning marked the start of six weeks of chemotherapy, and with McDavid’s surprise visit, it got off to as good as a start as could be expected.

According to Sarah Kraus of Global Edmonton, Rheanna’s aunt said that meeting McDavid made it the “best day ever.”
