PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Jaroslav Modry is leaving the NHL and going home.
Czech club HC Liberec said on its website Thursday that the 37-year-old Modry signed a two-year contract with the team.
He was an unrestricted free agent.
Modry was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the ninth round of the 1990 draft. In 725 games with New Jersey, Los Angeles, Ottawa, Atlanta, Dallas and Philadelphia, he scored 49 goals and added 201 assists.
He also played for Liberec during the NHL lockout in 2004-05.
