Leafs make offer to Ducks’ Nonis

SPORTSNET.CA

The Toronto Maple Leafs made an offer to Anaheim Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations Dave Nonis on Wednesday night and will now wait on an answer.

Nonis, who worked under and replaced new Leafs general manager Brian Burke in Vancouver, is expected to occupy a similar role in Toronto. According to his current employer, the Ducks want to keep him in its front office.

Burke asked permission to speak with Nonis last week.
