Oilers making Anton Slepyshev available for trade

The Oilers had a day off in Nashville to get away from the media and the negativity, and now they’re feeling recharged, fresh and ready to turn things around.

The Edmonton Oilers have put forward Anton Slepyshev on the trade block, according to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector.

Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli emailed all 30 opposing GMs of Slepyshev’s availability on Thursday.

The 23-year-old has one goal and two assists in 18 games this season, and would need to pass waivers in order to be sent down to the AHL.

The Russian winger was taken in the third round (88th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
