Oilers ink Olivier Roy to three-year contract

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Olivier Roy to a three-year entry level contract, the club announced Wednesday.

Roy, 19, is currently playing with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and has appeared in 45 games with a 29-13-2 record, 2.79 GAA and .911 save percentage.

The six-foot, 180-pound Causapscal, Que., native was part of the silver-medal winning Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Roy was drafted by the Oilers in the fifth round, 133rd overall in the 2009 Draft.
