Minnesota Wild forward Mikael Granlund has reportedly sustained an off-season ankle injury.
The 25-year-old rolled his ankle while running in Finland and is on crutches, according to the Minnesota Star-Tribune‘s Michael Russo, though it doesn’t appear Granlund will be out of commission for very long.
Granlund just re-signed with the Wild for three years and $17.25 million on Aug. 1.
Granlund enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2016-17, posting career-best marks of 26 goals and 69 points in 81 games. The latter total led the Wild, who emerged as one of the NHL’s top clubs with a fifth-best record of 49-25-8.
