The Vancouver Canucks are showing interest in acquiring Buffalo Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers.
According to The Province, the Canucks offered the Sabres a package for Myers that included the 24th-overall pick, which the Cancucks acquired in the trade that sent centre Ryan Kesler to the Anaheim Ducks.
Myers, 24, has struggled in his last two seasons in Buffalo. The 12th-overall pick from the 2008 draft has just 30 points in 101 games while posting a minus-34 rating during that stretch.
The Detroit Red Wings are also believed to have interest in the six-foot-eight blueliner.
The Canucks were extremely busy Friday. First they sent Kesler to the Ducks, then they acquired forward Derek Dorsett from the New York Rangers for the 85th-overall pick in Friday’s draft and sent defenceman Jason Garrison to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 50th-overall selection.
