Reports: Thornton, Nash to HC Davos

San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton and New York Rangers forward Rick Nash are both heading to HC Davos of the Swiss National League A this fall because of the NHL lockout, according to multiple reports.

The decision comes as little surprise, as both stars enjoyed success with the European club during the NHL’s previous lockout.

Thornton played for Davos during the 2004-05 lockout, scoring 10 goals and 54 points in 40 games. Nash, who also suited up for the club that season, led the team in goals scored with 27.

Thornton has a home in Switzerland and met his wife there during the 2004-05 lockout.
