The Minnesota Wild signed Kyle Quincey to one-year, $1.25-million contract, the team announced Saturday.

The 31-year-old defenceman began 2016-17 with the New Jersey Devils before being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets late in the season. He finished the year with six goals, nine assists. 51 penalty minutes, 97 hits, 97 blocked shots while averaging 17:54 in ice-time in 73 games. He also suited up for two playoff games with the Blue Jackets.

This signing comes one days after the Wild traded defenceman Marco Scandella, winger Jason Pominville and a 2018 fourth-round pick to the Buffalo Sabres for forwards Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno plus a 2018 third-round selection.
