Sportsnet Delivers Pitch-Perfect Coverage of the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League Season

TORONTO (August 1, 2013) Sportsnet announced today it will deliver nearly 200 matches of the 2013-14Barclays Premier League season, continuing a 15-year network tradition of broadcasting Premier League soccer in Canada. Coverage of Premier League on Sportsnet kicks off with an exclusive triple-header on Saturday, Aug. 17, beginning with Liverpool vs. Stoke City in the season-opening game at 7:30 a.m. ET/4:30 a.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific, followed by Arsenal vs. Aston Villa at 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m. PT, and Swansea vs. Manchester United at Noon ET/9 a.m. PT.  Additionally, Sportsnet’s comprehensive multimedia coverage connects Premier League fans to their favourite teams through Sportsnet, Sportsnet World, Sportsnet World Online and mobile, sportsnet.ca, and Sportsnet 590 The FAN all season long.

 

Up to 100 Premier League matches will be available on Sportsnet World, Canada’s premier International sport TV subscription service. These matches will also be available through Sportsnet World Online and mobile – a digital subscription video service providing live and on-demand streaming of all Sportsnet-broadcasted Premier League matches as well as exclusive access to an additional 30 matches this season.

 

Highlights of the first six weeks of the season include two triple-header Saturdays on Sportsnet’s regional channels (Saturday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 28), and four matches featuring reigning Premier League champion Manchester United, including the popular Manchester Derby against cross-town rivals Manchester City on Sunday, Sept. 22.
