The 2025 MLB trade deadline struck Thursday, July 31, at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT.

Here is a list of every trade made – including a record-breaking 36 on deadline day – before the cutoff as contending teams scrambled to stock up for the upcoming playoff push.

July 31

Philadelphia Phillies receive: RHP Matt Manning
Detroit Tigers receive: OF Josueth Quiñonez
Quick Notes: The Phillies make a minor move towards the end of the deadline to acquire Manning after the Tigers designated him for assignment earlier Thursday to clear space on their 40-man roster.

Milwaukee Brewers receive: RHP Shelby Miller, LHP Jordan Montgomery
Arizona Diamondbacks receive: Player to be named later or cash considerations
Quick Notes: In a deadline buzzer beater, the Diamondbacks shipped off two injured pitchers in Miller and Montgomery to the first-placed Brewers. Miller had a 1.98 ERA and 10 saves for Arizona this season.

Kansas City Royals receive: OF Mike Yastrzemski
San Francisco Giants receive: RHP Yunior Marte
Quick Notes: The Royals continued a soft buy, adding Yastrzemski to an outfield that also includes new addition Randal Grichuk, MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel. The left-handed hitter has a .231 average, .685 OPS, eight homers and 28 RBIs in San Francisco this season.

Detroit Tigers receive: RHP Charlie Morton, cash considerations
Baltimore Orioles receive: LHP Micah Ashman
Quick Notes: After Reese Olson was lost for the season to a strained shoulder, the Tigers added Chris Paddack, and now Morton to fill the void in their rotation. The right-hander has a 5.42 ERA over 101.1 innings with the Orioles this season.

Quick Notes: The Rays swapped out more pitching, dealing a starter in Bradley for a high-leverage relief arm in Jax. The right-hander has struck out 72 batters in 46 innings this season with the Twins.

Minnesota Twins receive: OF Alan Roden, LHP Kendry Rojas
Quick Notes: The Blue Jays acquired Varland – a reliever with a 98 m.p.h. fastball and 2.02 ERA – and a depth bat in France. Roden struggled in the majors this year but hit for a .918 OPS at triple-A. Rojas was their No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline.

Quick Notes: After Taylor and Tyler Rogers became the first twins dealt on the same day in MLB history Wednesday, Taylor Rogers was moved again Thursday, joining the Cubs for a playoff push. He has a 2.45 ERA over 33 innings with the Cincinnati Reds this season. Ryan Pressly was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Tampa Bay Rays receive: RHP Adrian Houser
Chicago White Sox receive: INF Curtis Mead, RHP Duncan Davitt, RHP Ben Peoples
Quick Notes: In Houser, the Rays get veteran starter who has had a renaissance in 2025, pitching to a 2.10 ERA over 11 outings after signing a one-year, $1.35 million-deal in the off-season.

Boston Red Sox receive: RHP Dustin May
Los Angeles Dodgers receive: OF James Tibbs III, OF Zach Ehrhard
Quick Notes: The Red Sox fill a need by adding a starter to their ailing rotation. May has a 4.85 ERA, 97 strikeouts, 43 walks and a career-high 18 starts this season.

Quick Notes: After going through ups and downs during his four-year stint with the New York Yankees that included an all-star appearance, Cortes struggled with health and results during his brief time in Milwaukee, recording a 9.00 ERA over two outings.

Cincinnati Reds receive: INF/OF Miguel Andujar
Athletics receive: RHP Kenya Huggins
Quick Notes: The Reds add Andujar’s high-level bat-to-ball skills to their lineup. The LF/3B has a .298 average to go along with low whiff and strikeout rates.

Kansas City Royals receive: LHP Bailey Faulter
Pittsburgh Pirates receive: LHP Evan Sisk, 1B Callan Moss
Quick Notes: The Royals add Faulter, 28, who has a career-best 3.73 ERA and has three full years of team control remaining.

Chicago Cubs receive: UTIL Willi Castro
Minnesota Twins receive: RHP Ryan Gallagher, RHP Sam Armstrong
Quick Notes: The Cubs get the switch-hitting Castro who is slashing .245/.335/.407 with 10 home runs and nine stolen bases this season. He has played second base, third base, shortstop and all three outfield positions for the Twins.

Quick Notes: After acquiring third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Rockies, the Yankees have moved on from Peraza getting an 18-year-old outfield prospect in return.

Texas Rangers receive: RHP Merrill Kelly
Arizona Diamondbacks receive: LHP Kohl Drake, RHP David Hagaman, LHP Mitch Bratt
Quick Notes: The Rangers pay a steep price for one of the top starters moved at the deadline, giving up three top 30 prospects – including No. 5 Kohl Drake – per MLB Pipeline. Kelly’s 3.22 ERA would be his best mark over a full season if it holds up.

Quick Notes: The Dodgers add a depth outfielder in Call who is has a .274 average, .756 OPS and three home runs in a part-time role this season. He has faired well against left-handed pitching in his career albeit over a smaller sample size of 335 plate appearances.

Quick Notes: The Blue Jays move on from Wagner – who they acquired at last season’s deadline as part of the return from the Houston Astros for Yusei Kikuchi – for a well-rounded catching prospect.

Quick Notes: The Yankees continued their bullpen reinforcement, adding the right-handed Bird, who has struck out 62 hitters in 53.1 innings this season with a 4.73 ERA.

Quick Notes: Baltimore moves on from longtime centre-fielder Mullins, who spent the first eight years of his career with the franchise. The former all-star has 15 home runs, 14 stolen bases and a .738 OPS in 91 games this season.

Quick Notes: Fermin provides an additional backstop option to a Padres team that has gotten a combined minus-0.9 fWAR and .575 OPS from their catchers. Bergert and Kolek add controllable depth to the Royals’ pitching staff.

New York Yankees receive: RHP David Bednar
Pittsburgh Pirates receive: C/1B Rafael Flores, C Edgleen Perez, OF Brian Sanchez
Quick Notes: The Yankees add a reliever with closing experience in Bednar, who has rebounded from a down year in 2024 with a 2.37 ERA this season. The two-time all-star right-hander led the National League with 39 saves in 2023.

Quick Notes: Heuer joins the list of relievers heading to the Tigers ahead of the deadline. The 29-year-old has thrown just 1.1 innings in the majors this season, and owns a 3.43 ERA over 39.1 frames at triple-A.

Los Angeles Dodgers receive: RHP Brock Stewart
Minnesota Twins receive: OF James Outman
Quick Notes: Stewart has overcome a history of arm injuries and is in the middle of a standout season. He is posting a 2.38 ERA to go with 41 strikeouts in 34 innings. Stewart pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019.

Philadelphia Phillies receive: OF Harrison Bader
Minnesota Twins receive: OF Hendry Mendez, RHP Geremy Villoria
Quick Notes: Philadelphia adds a right-handed bat in Bader, whose productive first-half of the season puts him on track for a career year. Bader is slashing .258/.339/.439 with 12 home runs and 70 hits in 307 plate appearances. The 31-year-old is also a versatile and reliable outfielder.

Quick Notes: The Tigers continue to bolster their bullpen depth. Finnegan, 33, has struggled to replicate his 2024 campaign, which resulted in 38 saves and his first All-Star nod. His 4.38 ERA this season is also on track to be a career low. Finnegan will be a free agent next off-season.

The A’s also gave up a starter in Sears (4.95 ERA), but got one of baseball’s top prospects in the 18-year-old shortstop De Vries.

Quick Notes: Sewald, a veteran reliever, has pitched to a 4.70 ERA in 18 appearances with the Guardians this season. He has experience in high-leverage situations, having worked a a closer in 2023 while with the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Quick Notes: Shane Bieber, the American League Cy Young winner in 2020, gives the Blue Jays the extra starter they had been looking for. However, the righty has yet to make an MLB start this season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery.

The 30-year-old had thrown just 10.2 innings with Texas this season, posting a 3.38 ERA. Ruiz has spent time with both the Braves and Phillies organizations in 2025 and owns an 8.82 ERA in 16.1 MLB innings.

July 16

Quick Notes: Frazier rejoins the Royals after spending all of 2024 in Kansas City. The depth utility man has a .654 OPS with three home runs and 21 RBIs in 78 games with the Pirates this season. Devanney, a 28-year-old utility infielder with 18 home runs and 55 RBIs at triple-A in 2025, goes to Pittsburgh.

July 10

Tampa Bay Rays receive: RHP Bryan Baker
Baltimore Orioles receive: Competitive Balance Round A Draft Pick
Quick Notes: Baker emerged as a key bullpen piece for the Orioles this season, striking out 50 hitters with a 3.52 ERA in 38.1 innings before the trade to Tampa Bay, which sent the 37th-overall pick in the 2025 draft — eventually used on high school outfielder Slater de Brun — to Baltimore.

Heading back to the Red Sox are a pair of major-league pitchers in Harrison and Hicks, and two prospects in Tibbs III and Bello.
