The Yankees continued their bullpen reinforcement late into the MLB's trade deadline frenzy.
New York has acquired star closer Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants, it announced Thursday.
Prospects Jesús Rodríguez, Trystan Vrieling, Parks Harber, and Carlos de la Rosa were the return for San Francisco.
Doval has posted 15 saves in 46.2 innings of work this season with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.
The 28-year-old debuted with the Giants in 2021 and was an all-star in 2023, racking up a league-leading 39 saves in 69 appearances during a career year.
He joins RHP Jake Bird and RHP David Bednar as deadline acquisitions to bolster the Yankees bullpen for a tight race in the American League.
Doval is arbitration eligible in 2026 and will become a free agent in 2028, he was signed by the Giants in 2015 as an amateur free agent.
