A pair of Toronto Blue Jays prospects have been selected to play in the 2018 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on July 15.

Infielder Bo Bichette, currently playing for the double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats and catcher Danny Jansen of the triple-A Buffalo Bisons will both play for the U.S. roster and are the Blue Jays organization’s only representatives in the game.

Bichette is the No. 7-ranked prospect according to MLB’s official top prospect listing. In 82 games played with the Fisher Cats this season, the 20-year-old is batting .269/.330/.437 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs over 370 plate appearances.

Jansen is the Blue Jays’ sixth-ranked prospect on their official listing. The 23-year-old is batting .287/.398/.464 with six homers and 42 RBIs in 252 plate appearances with Buffalo this season.

What’s probably a bigger story than the Blue Jays blue-chippers who made the Futures game, however, is the one huge omission: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Fear not Blue Jays fans, it’s not like the selection committee suddenly forgot who the No. 1 prospect in baseball is, it’s likely he couldn’t be named to the team because of his knee injury.

The Futures game goes July 15 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. at 4 p.m. ET.
