Toronto Blue Jays right-handed reliever Ryan Tepera has cleared release waivers and has become a free agent, the team announced Monday.
Tepera, 32, went 0-2 with a 4.98 ERA in 22 relief appearances and one start last season.
He was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last Monday.
Tepera missed more than three months in 2019 because of a right elbow impingement, but returned in September, posting a 3.38 ERA in 11 appearances.
The native of Houston, Texas, was selected by the Blue Jays in the 19th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
He has posted a 12-11 record with a 3.64 ERA across five seasons with Toronto.
