The Atlanta Braves have signed left-handed reliever Will Smith to a three-year deal worth $39 million, the team announced on Thursday.
The deal also includes a $13-million club option for 2023.
A first-time all-star in 2019, the 30-year-old Smith had 34 saves for the San Francisco Giants last season while going 6-0 with a 2.76 ERA in 63 games.
Drafted by the the Tampa Bay Rays in the 40th round of the 2007 MLB draft and by the Los Angeles Angels in the seventh round in 2008, Smith broke into the majors as a starter with the Kansas City Royals in 2012 before switching to the bullpen with Milwaukee Brewers in 2014.
Smith joined the Giants at the 2016 trade deadline and has appeared in 153 games in San Francisco over two-plus seasons.
