Isiah Kiner-Falefa is on the move yet again.
The 30-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Kiner-Falefa signed a two-year contract with the Blue Jays entering 2024, but was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the trade deadline for prospect Charles McAdoo. The following season, he was placed on outright waivers by Pittsburgh and was picked up by Toronto once again.
After rejoining the Blue Jays, the 2020 Gold Glover hit .233 with a .625 OPS and one home run. Kiner-Falefa struggled to a .162 average and .400 OPS in the post-season, but did record two doubles and a key single prior to George Springer’s decisive three-run homer in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
The utility infielder had more success during his 2024 season split between the Blue Jays and Pirates, batting .262 with two home runs and 40 RBIs.
Throughout his eight-year career, Kiner-Falefa has hit 36 home runs, 286 RBIs and a .262 batting average over 918 career games with the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Blue Jays and Pirates.
