Dallas Mavericks point guard Luke Doncic will not travel with the team when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks after suffering a sprained right ankle against the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Doncic is expected to not return for at least a couple of weeks, meaning he’s likely to miss a stretch of games against Milwaukee, Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia, according to ESPN’s Tim McMahon.
The 20-year-old rolled his ankle after landing on the foot of Heat guard Kendrick Nunn, forcing him to turn the ball over and limp off the court behind the basket as the play continued in the other end.
Doncic went to the locker room and had X-rays done which came back negative. In 25 games this season, the reigning rookie of the year is averaging 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game.
