On the Road with Athlete Institute at the Grind Session in Kansas

Go behind the scenes with Orangeville, ON basketball prep powerhouse Athlete Institute, the only Canadian team that travelled to the annual Grind Session tournament in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Grind Session is an intense 32-team high school tournament played in front of some of the most influential NCAA and NBA scouts around. This year just one team from Canada, Orangeville, Ontario’s Athlete Institute— most renowned as the local prep powerhouse that produced Jamal Murray and Jalen Poyser last season and Thon Maker this year— made the trip to the championships at Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas.

James Macdonald takes you behind the scenes from Athlete Institute’s trip in the video above and photos below. For more on Athlete Institute and Maker, check out Gare Joyce’s feature from Sportsnet magazine.
