LAS VEGAS — The UFC wants bantamweight champion Holly Holm’s next fight to be a rematch with Ronda Rousey.

Holm would prefer not to wait for the former champ to heal up from their first meeting.

UFC President Dana White told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that "it’s Rousey" next for Holm (10-0), who dethroned Rousey (12-1) with a dramatic second-round stoppage last month in Australia.

But Rousey says she might need several months to recover, which would potentially keep the 34-year-old Holm out of action until summer or longer.

Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, told the Times that his fighter would prefer to be more active, perhaps meeting top contender Miesha Tate in the interim.

The UFC has shown interest in booking the Holm-Rousey rematch for UFC 200 in July in Las Vegas.
