TORONTO (May 13, 2014) Sportsnet and Jays Care Foundation are once again teaming up to support kids in need with the sixth annual Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction presented by TD, on Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific.
Evanka Osmak, anchor of Sportsnet’s Connected, returns as host of the auction, broadcasting live from Rogers Centre throughout the evening. Bidding opens at the start of Blue Jays Central at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT and closes 10 minutes following the end of the seventh inning.
Following last year’s successful auction that raised $183,000 in support of Jays Care programs, this year’s fundraising goal is set at $200,000. The Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction has raised more than $480,000 since 2009, helping to support kids on a lifelong track to success by investing in programs that inspire children to get active, stay in school and be part of a team.
During the auction, fans across Canada will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive Blue Jays experiences and one-of-a-kind memorabilia, including:
- Hall of Fame Experience: Winner and three guests get a once in a life opportunity to join Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar for a private day trip to the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY
- Practice with a Pro: Winner and a guest can enjoy a 30-minunte pitching lesson with knuckleballer R.A Dickey
- TD All-access Experience: Winner will receive the ultimate fan experience, featuring batting practice, opening the Rogers Centre dome, tickets in the TD Comfort Zone and more
- Broadcast Experience: Meet and greet for two with broadcasters Gregg Zaun and Jamie Campbell in the Blue Jays Central broadcast booth, as well as a visit to the Sportsnet 590 The FAN broadcast booth alongside Jerry Howarth
In addition to the auction packages, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a special Fan Pack with a $50 or $100 donation to the Jays Care Foundation. Only 750 $100 packs and 250 $50 packs will be available exclusively online at the start of Blue Jays Central at 6:30 p.m. ET. A full list of items can be found at bluejays.com/broadcastauction.
