Tracy Fleury, the skip for the top-ranked team in the world’s women’s curling rankings, will miss the start of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts after testing positive for COVID-19.

The team says Fleury feels well and could join the team as soon as this weekend in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Robyn Njegovan will fill in for the Manitoba team until Fleury returns.

Fleury’s team opens play on Friday night against New Brunswick.
Curling Canada said Friday two participants from different teams tested positive on pre-departure PCR tests.
All participants had to produce negative PCR tests before departing and upon arrival in Thunder Bay. All arrival PCR tests conducted on Thursday have come back negative, Curling Canada said.
