MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed veteran defensive tackle Jerome Haywood on Thursday.
Haywood signed a one-year contract, plus an option, with the CFL club.
The five-foot-10, 180-pound Haywood is entering his eighth CFL season. He began his pro career with the Ottawa Renegades in 2002 and spent four seasons there before joining the Alouettes, appearing in 11 games with the club in 2006.
Haywood then spent the following two seasons with Winnipeg.
Haywood, 30, has appeared in 107 career CFL games, recording 223 tackles and 29 sacks.
