TORONTO — The Montreal Alouettes dominated the CFL’s weekly awards Wednesday following a convincing win over West Division leading Calgary on Thanksgiving.
Quarterback Anthony Calvillo earned offensive player of the week honours after completing 28-of-38 passes for 395 yards and two TDs in a 46-19 win over the Stampeders on Monday. He also added 10 rushing yards on two carries.
Hamilton quarterback Kevin Glenn was the runner up.
Calvillo’s teammate Anwar Stewart earned defensive honours after collecting two tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass knock down in the game.
He beat out Toronto linebacker Jeremy Unertl for the award.
Alouettes kicker/punter Colt David was the special teams winner after recording 22 points in his first CFL game.
B.C. Lions kick returner Yonus Davis was the runner-up.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive tackle Doug Brown was named the top Canadian after posting three tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in a 47-35 overtime victory over B.C.
Hamilton receiver Dave Stala was also considered for the honour.
